EECE 516 Measurement Techniques for Particle Characterization
Aerosol particles play an important role in determining air quality and in impacting global climate. This course aims to introduce students to the principles and techniques of particle measurement and characterization. The course will focus on particle sizing and size distribution measurements, as well as particle composition measurements. Techniques from the well-established fundamentals to the latest novel instrumentation will be explored. Examples of particle measurement technology applications will be also discussed, including air pollution monitoring, clean manufacturing of semiconductors, air filtration, indoor air quality, and emissions control from combustion sources.
This is a graduate-level course. Prerequisites: EECE 504, graduate standing, or permission of instructor.
